By gifting an item from our House Wishlist, you help ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels truly at home while they focus on what matters most: healing. We regularly require the following items as donations to the house. Items can be delivered between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm on weekdays or directly through our Amazon wishlist. Since 2012, Valour Place has welcomed 87 babies born while their parents were houseguests, and in the last year alone, 14 Valour Babies arrived!
Families have typically stayed with us during pregnancy when mother or baby required urgent care, but that’s no longer always the case. As several communities in Alberta and the NWT have stopped delivering babies at their local hospitals, families must now travel to Edmonton even for normal pregnancies.
We are proud to welcome veterans, RCMP, military members, first responders and their partners from those communities at no cost to them.
Through our Valour Baby program, we surround these families with extra love and support. Every Valour Baby receives a keepsake blanket, lovingly handmade by our talented volunteers, a tradition we’ve always cherished. Because families often can’t bring much with them, we’ve identified a need for other essentials as well. Each family now receives a gift bag containing a Valour Baby blanket, onesies, diapers, baby wash and cream, wipes, washcloths, receiving blankets, and sleepers, everything they need to get settled until they can return home.
